The latest Shimano Di2 version of the ‘105″ is called the R7150!
The R7100 is still electric, but now also available in 12speed just like Campagnolo and SRAM!
The R7100 shifts smoothly, Shimano’s engineers have focused a lot on that.
Compared to SRAM ETAP, the group is on the heavy side, which is partly because Shimano opted for a central battery in the seat post.
Contrary to claims, the R7100 and the R8170 are not fully wireless, the battery feeds the derailleurs from the seat post with a visible cable. This makes the group relatively heavy and also fragile. Market leader Shimano has equally delivered an affordable electric group that many have been looking forward to.
