Need help choosing a groupset? -> Overview groups by price-quality Of all SRAM ETAP groups, the “Rival” is the cheapest and fully wireless electric shifting group in the world. The Force group is lighter and more durable than the Rival group.
The Rival is ideally suited for Gravel and the most sold on Gravel bikes. Thus, it also has a WIDE variant. In this, the crank and front derailleur are further away from the frame so you can mount wide tires (up to 50mm on our Gravel) SRAM ETAP is the only and unique wireless groupset, you brake with two cables, the rest goes via Bluetooth. The switches transmit the signal to the derailleurs, each of which carries a small battery.
The batteries are interchangeable with each other and last six months with weekly use, every bike ordered with an ETAP groupset receives a charger with it.
Gear shifting is fast and very efficient. If you like proven innovation and forward thinking, SRAM ETAP is right up your alley.
Pay attention to a few things. The smallest cogs at SRAM ETAP are 10tooth. The standard cranks have 48T outer leaf. So your largest gearing is 48/10=4.8x.
Other groups have standard cassettes whose smallest cog is 11T. For equal gearing, you will then have to ride a 53T outer leaf, because 53/11=4.8x.
With SRAM, the gearing is therefore 48 over 10, which is equal to 53 over 11.
We also build 53 over 10 on the AERO 20 upon request.
The Sram Rival groupset consists of
– a 48/35 or 46/33 crank;
– two shifters with cables and calipers;
– two 160mm discs
– a cassette
– a Rival chain for 12s
– a front derailleur with battery*
– a rear derailleur with battery*
– a charger* for the battery
* the charger and battery do not come standard with the SRAM groupset, we have added them. NOTE: the groupset does not include a BRACKETSET.
