Review Matteo

As you know, we supported Matteo Nandalon in his journey “Il puyo sogno mamma” with our Deep Gravel Bike.

Matteo’s journey was very successful. In total, he covered over 2,500 km on our gravel racer and was thus able to get a great idea of the capabilities of our gravel racer. Herewith some quotes he shared with us:

  • The bike has fantastic geometries, it allows you to turn in tight spaces and with very tight corners in perfect tranquility, it really surprised me.
  • I found it a very stable bike both on the road and on dirt and very reactive, responding very well to raises and speed changes.
  • The Twaron handlebar is very rigid; at first I thought it was awkward, but then instead it turned out to be a blast because being so stiff is always a point of safety while driving. Even in the dirt, having it so stiff, transmits a lot of safety.

Gravel season is always ‘open’!

Cruising over sand, grit, grass and asphalt is perfectly possible with this beautiful gravel racer of ours. The year-round gravel season is open, but should you want to switch to racing on asphalt only later in the season, you can do so with this hybrid frame. In fact, with a different wheelset you will also have a fine reactive and light road racer.

Equipped with Sram Red Etap 10 speed and nice Carbon wheelset, this demo gravel racer is ready for a test ride as of now!

Of course another composition, color etc. is also possible!

Our classic….the Aero Classic!!!

Besides the Aero 20, a high-end model, we also have a lower entry-level model available, of course. This is the Aero Classic we can offer from as little as €1,899. This model is also nicely maneuverable and, like the Aero 20, has tremendous forward power!

The Aero Classic is available in several versions. The yellow one – pictured – has the following specifications: Carbon T700, Miche Sram 2×11 speed, Vision Team wheelset, Continental GP5000 and a Wittkop Swiss saddle. For €1,899 you will own this super sleek bike!

New Aero 20 on the way!

‘The AERO 20 is tremendously maneuverable and when powering on you feel tremendous forward power! This makes cornering at speed very easy. In short, a smooth but very tight bike.’

We recently received this above feedback from a top amateur/elitist.

The gray Aero 20 pictured here is equipped with Sram Force eTAP, DTSwiss 350 hubs, Dimension Prologo saddle and a 14C Carbon wheelset, among others.

Interested in such a beautiful racer!

Nice to see all these nice pictures of those super sleek bikes. But who buys a new bike based on a cute picture … We believe that you should be able to feel, touch and test a bike. Therefore, we have at least one test model of each model available. Will you only really experience how good a bike is by riding it. So if you have serious interest in one of our models, let us know. By arrangement, you will then have the opportunity to try the bike extensively.

The following test models are currently available:

  • Aero Classic yellow: entry level with Miche Sram 2×11 speed, Vision alu wheels
  • Aero Classic gray: including carbon wheelset and Shimano Ultegra
  • 14C Gravelracer: aka Sram Red Etap, carbon wheelset and ursus aero handlebars
  • Aero 20 green: Sram Etap Force 11 speed, Carbon wheelset, 350 DTswiss
  • Aero 20 yellow: Sram Etap Red 11 speed, Carbon wheelset, 240 DTSwiss

Interest …. we’d love to hear about it!

PRESS RELEASE CYCLING TEAM FRYSLÂN

14CARBON COMMITS TO CYCLING TEAM FRYSLÂN
Together with Friesland Lease & Houtec, 14CARBON fills out main sponsorship

Starting today, the riders of Cycling Team Fryslân race on road bikes from 14CARBON from Koudum! A Frisian cycling team, which had already secured many Frisian sponsors, has now also managed to secure a Frisian bicycle manufacturer. Because, of course, a Friesian elite team belongs to race on a Friesian bike!

Model
The racer provided to the team by 14CARBON is the Aero 20. A robust, lightweight and professional race bike that meets all the “cycling requirements and features. Various tests have recently determined that 14CARBON has delivered a very high-quality carbon bike that is stiff, light and easy to maintain.

Green!
Deliberately chosen a “green” carbon racer!
Indeed, all involved parties affiliated with the Cycling Team Fryslân consider sustainability a very important spearhead.

About Cycling Team Fryslân
The cycling team set up in 2015 by about six Frisian Elite cyclists is active in various races under the banner of WV Snits – WV Cycling Sneek. Right from the start in 2015, the team was very successful through multiple wins and several podium finishes.

Ambition
Of course, the main objective of the cross-club cooperation within the team is to raise the level of performance in Friesland to a higher level. But in addition, the Cycling Team Fryslân will also act as a breeding ground for young cycling talents, to support them in the various components of cycling in their future cycling careers.

Program
Anno 2020 there is a team with 14 talented riders which in 2020 will participate in the National club competition for the second year in a row. In addition, the team is active in National Classics (free races) at the very highest amateur level and at the semi-professional level. They will also participate in several foreign stage races and finally, of course, the team is active in the various cycling criteriums throughout the Netherlands.

Objective
Last season, the team dominated in the Northern cycling races with podium finishes in every race. Along with the final place in the club competition, 2019 was a very successful season. Therefore, the goal for 2020 is to at least match the level of 2019. We would like to achieve this by finishing among the first 10 cycling teams in the National competition and picking up several victories in the Northern Cycling Criteriums.

Review Aero 20 by Rudi Bissels

Recently Rudi Bissels tested the Aero 20 for us.
The bike tested by Rudi was equipped with SRAM Force eTap AXS 12s and further consisted of:

Frame/fork:T800 CarbonSaddle:Prologo Dimension
Discs:160mm (hydraulisc),Tires:Continental GP5000
Crank:48/35 170mmColor:Red
Cassette:10-28Frame weight:1,100 grams
Send:Integrated carbonTotal weight:7.6kg.

Below he describes his personal experiences in response.

‘My conclusion/experience of the Aero 20 can be summed up in two words: TOP BIKE

Just some personal findings:

Optical:

  • Lacquer color is beautiful, nice glossy and strong
  • Seat post screw is nicely concealed
  • Wheels have nice decals, not screaming but present and readable
  • The whole bike gives a nice clean overall look, no cables and nice tight connections of stem to headset and such make the bike have a sleek look.
  • The distribution of red-black (matte) is beautiful, not too busy but certainly not boring. This really makes the bike an eye-catcher without being a screaming entity

Geometry/rije properties:

  • The alignment of saddle to bracket is perfect, so anyone can find the right saddle position (including via bikefitting). I am now a little more above the bracket but love it
  • The bike is nice and short, this means maneuverability is tremendously good
  • When you accelerate standing on the pedals you notice that all the power is converted into speed, you don’t have to correct at all, the bike goes straight ahead tremendously fast
  • The stiffness from the handlebars toward the pedals is fantastic, the transmission of forces to the pedals is phenomenal and is overwhelmingly a unity of handlebars-steering stem-ball headtube-diagonal frame tube-bracket-cranks-pedals
  • The wheels are wonderfully light and stiff, this greatly benefits acceleration and maneuverability (chamfering of bike).
  • Braking with disc brakes is fantastic, I have already had to make an emergency stop (car suddenly turning in front of me) and then the brakes are perfect
  • The brake levers are fine to adjust for people with small hands, simply turn a hidden screw with an Allen key, see attached video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKso8td2GGg
  • The handlebars are great, nice handlebar tape and good angle when you have your hands in the stirrup.’
Rudi liked the bike so much that from now on he will also do his mileage privately on our Aero 20!

Custom bike for Jelle

Meet Jelle! Jelle cycles at a local cycling club and wanted a serious racer for once. Jelle came to us for advice, he wanted something special, something personal and local. You can! We had Jelle test ride a 54cm frame and it turned out to be a little too small. We measured his measurements and decided that he should get a 56cm frame with a drop of 10-11 cm (difference saddle and handlebar height).

His friends at the club ordered him to choose an electric group. We recommended him the SRAM FORCE ETAP 2×12.
Jelle chose a Pearl White version with a ruby red pompeblêds in the logo.
Jelle was totally in love with the Campagnolo Scirocco wheelset with its distinctive 7×3 spokes.

This custom dream bike was delivered within two weeks.
Happy Biking Jelle!

Meet the AERO CITY bike: “It’s a bike Jim, but not as we know it”

We have come up with something new: the AERO CITY!
That is, we see a City bike in this bike, but is it really?
The frame is from our AERO 20 line which makes it a fast and light bike.
An Urban Bike with a surprising 1x12speed group, wonderfully ergonomic “Moto Guzzi” handlebars and Retro brown elements.
Also, a set of beautiful 7×3-spoke Campagnolo Scirocco wheels and Challange Almanzo canvas tires.
Italian and Dutch quirkiness in a 7.8kg bike: to unsafe the cities or to gravel or race on the road.
What can’t you actually do with this bike?
